Purpose
This repo is officially maintained by the Garmin Connect IQ team, containing a small set of reference examples and monkey barrel code libraries. It is our hope that this repository will extend the resources available to our developers to help them build exciting new content!
What's in the Repo?
Audio Content Provider Apps: Special apps that are used directly by the device media player to acquire and play audio content.
Barrels: Monkey Barrels are a way for developers to create custom Monkey C libraries containing source code and resource information that can be easily shared across Connect IQ Projects. To find out more about Monkey Barrels, please see the Shareable Libraries chapter in the Programmer's Guide.
Data Fields: Apps that run within the native activities that allow developers to compute values based off of the current activity, such as running, biking, etc.
Device Apps: More capable than the other app types, device apps can implement third party activities and provide additional functionality that is not otherwise addressed by the other available app types.
Watch Faces: Low power apps that replace the main watch face and are the home screen on wearable devices.
Widgets: At-a-glance apps that are readily accessible from the watch face or device home screen. Widgets automatically close after a period of inactivity
To find out more about the Connect IQ Application Types type please see the Application Types chapter in the Programmer's Guide.

Never works properly with Mobile Connect
I have given this app a try several times because I wanted to try out new faces for my Vivoactive 3 (not crazy about the limited default faces even though they are customizable—not enough digital face options). Every time I download the app, I have to uninstall it because it does something wacky to my Mobile Connect app or my watch itself. This time, my watch and Connect are showing two different step counts and I know for a fact my Connect is accurate. I’ve uninstalled IQ, restarted my watch and my phone numerous times, tried different watch faces (the Garmin defaults), and refreshed a million times with no luck. This happens every time I install IQ. Never again!
Can’t Uninstall A Face App
Spent an hour creating different watch faces from my camera roll. I then decided to download the “countdown” face and fiddled with it for a bit. I decided I wanted to put one of my photos back on the watch. Tried several times to upload, and the app stated it was successful BUT the “countdown” face remained. Then I tried uninstalling the “countdown” face, and received “error encountered”. The only way to get rid of the “countdown” face is to uninstall the “connect IQ” app - or so I thought. Not only did I lose about a dozen watch faces I created from my photos, the “countdown” face remained. I tried to uninstall the “countdown” face and received the same “error encountered” message. So now I’m stuck with the “countdown” face on my Garmin...
Soooo frustrating!! Please fix this bug, or don’t allow apps to be loaded on top of “Connect IQ” until they are thoroughly tested.

Long overdue
Way to go Garmin! Just used the app for the first time. Pleasantly surprised. Very easy to use and understand the interface. Making settings changes to apps is a delight compared to what were used to before. Hopefully this will bring on more app developers to the Garmin platform.
